Ride Description: Offroad loop. Beginning on the highest peak in West Virginia, this is an extremely rocky and technical trail. The ride takes you along a barren ridge and then through huge mountain meadows on its way to Seneca Creek trail. Not recommended for beginners.
Directions to Parking: From Franklin follow Rt. 33 west, pass through Judy Gap, take a left on West Virginia 33/4, proceed for 2 miles (follow signs for Spruce Knob), bear left again at the "T" and then follow FR 112 to a right turn on FR 104.
From Seneca Rocks travel east on Rt. 33, pass through Harper's Mill, and after about 1 mile turn right onto 33/4. From here follow the directions and signs given above.
Mileposts: 0.0 — Ride out of parking lot and onto Huckleberry trail. 3.9 — Bear left at trail fork, and follow the blue blazes. Continue to bear left as the Horton-Horserock Trail joins from the right. 4.8 — Lumberjack trail intersects. Continue straight onto High Meadow trail. 5.1 — Turn left onto Judy Springs - Seneca Creek Trail. There is a meadow here. 9.4 — Turn left on FR 112. Begin climbing. 13.7 — Turn Left on FR 104. 15.2 — Return to Spruce Knob parking lot. |
